  • The only way to be successful is to be your authentic self.

  • Find a major that lets you study what you are passionate about.
  • Identify and enhance the skills that let you match your passion to your work.
  • No one finds by following someone else’s dream – or- someone else’s path.
  • When people tell you, “You should,” remember they are biased by their own point-of-view and life experiences.
  • Always searching for a better way can keep you stuck.
  • You are here for a reason. Figure out your reason, and go after it your way

Episode 019: The Name Game Adventure

Becky and Diana discuss the frustration of assigning a single name to the differences Uniquely Brilliant people experience because of the way their brains are wired.

  • It is hard to find a single name that accurately describes all the different versions of Uniquely Brilliant minds and abilities.
  • Diagnostic terms such as ADHD, ADD, Asperger’s, Autism, hyperactivity and even dyslexia are frequently used interchangeably. They are also misused.
  • Many people find themselves with the incorrect diagnosis of their brain differences.
  • Many diagnostic terms are defined as disorders, but could accurately, and more positively, be referred to as attributes.
  • The better you know yourself the more success you will have when you tell people what you need to be successful at school or at work.
  • So let us know, what words do you use to define your unique set of attributes?
  • What do you Google when you’re looking for help?
  • Do you use diagnostic terms like ADHD, ADD, Asperger’s, Autism, dyslexia?
  • Do you use more general terms like right-brained, left-brained, creative, neuro atypical?
  • Do you look up more specific issues such as short attention span, trouble focusing, anxiety, socially uncomfortable?
  • Help us come up with one word or phrase that encompasses it all.
